Catoctin Aqueduct 10K Run & 5K Fun Run/Walk -- 8:OO AM
The start for the 3rd running of CA10K on the C&O Canal National Historical Park’s towpath will be at 8:00 am – just a few hundred feet from the festival grounds. The entire run will be on the towpath, free of any traffic, and will be passing 2 railroad tunnels, 2 canal locks, 2 canal lock houses, and one 1830s stone aqueduct over the Catoctin Creek now under restoration. The race is open to women and men, any age, and timed in age brackets by the Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club. See below for more information and application.
Art at the Point -- 10:00 AM to 3 :00 PM
Art at The Point is a new, outdoor juried fine arts and crafts festival on Saturday, September 25, 2010, in Point of Rocks, MD. Enjoy a day in the countryside with an entertaining arts festival located on grass parkland next to the C&O Canal National Historical Park, Old Mainline of the B&O Railroad, and Potomac River. Up to 50 artists & demonstrations and information, with a variety of performing entertainers - free admission, free adjacent parking, food, baked good, & central location of US Rt 15 at the Potomac River – will make a day’s outing enjoyable and easy by both artists and visitors. The art fair is situated in a park setting that borders the C&O Canal National Historical Park and US Route 28 - taking advantage of the 6,100 cars that pass by the grounds on any given day, and the 16,600 cars passing on nearby US Route 15. Organized by the Point of Rocks Ruritan Club, pre-entries close September 10 and will guarantee a commemorative t-shirt. Same day registration and packet pick-up begins 6:30 am. Same day entries closes at 7:30 am.

Global Homestead's, “Updraft: a Conspiracy of Movement,” a regional aerial dance theater company from Washington County, MD, will be providing a special, unique performing art – dancing suspended from ribbons of silk from apparatus high above ground.
Paul Hadfield, The Funny Guy, will be performing with his unpredictable mix of physical comedy and wit he uses on audiences from Boston to Baton Rouge. Juggling, unicycling, acrobatics, and slapstick comedy with audience participation.
